Traveller looking out over a mountain landscape
The person behind the blog

Slow travel,
honest writing.

Hello — I'm Tom. I started The Wandered Path because I kept finding that the most useful travel advice came from people who had actually been there, made the mistakes, and come back with a better answer.

This blog is that answer — written for people who travel with intention, spend thoughtfully, and believe that where you stay matters as much as where you go.

What this blog is about

The Wandered Path covers destinations, hotels, and travel guides for people who care about quality over quantity. Not the 30-countries-in-30-days kind of travel — but the kind where you spend a week in one city, get to know one neighbourhood, find the restaurant that isn't on any list.

I focus on Europe, Asia, and Africa — the regions I know best. Every destination guide is based on personal experience. Every hotel recommendation is a place I have actually stayed in, or researched in enough depth to stand behind.

For collaboration enquiries, press trips, or just to say hello — use the contact form below. I read everything, though I can't always reply quickly.

A note on affiliate links

Some links on The Wandered Path are affiliate links — primarily links to hotels on Booking.com. This means that if you click a link and complete a booking, I may earn a small commission from the platform, at no additional cost to you.

This site participates in the Booking.com Affiliate Partner Programme. Commissions help cover the costs of running this blog — hosting, travel, and the time it takes to write thorough guides.

Affiliate relationships have no influence over my recommendations. I do not accept payment to feature hotels, and I do not recommend places I would not stay in myself. If a stay was complimentary or sponsored, it is stated clearly within the relevant post.

If you have any questions about how this site is funded or how I make decisions about what to recommend, feel free to get in touch.
